Wynn Law P.C. is a Black-owned law firm in downtown Indianapolis specializing in criminal defense, family law, expungements, and protective orders.
Why it matters
Let's be real. Attorneys are a dime a dozen. There are very few Black-owned law firms in Indy. You deserve someone who understands the role race and other demographic factors play in the judicial system and can advocate from that perspective. African Americans make up about 10.6% of Indiana's population, yet Black Hoosiers are imprisoned at 4.6 times the rate of white Hoosiers. From racial profiling and police targeting to sentencing disparities, you need an attorney who understands the role all of this plays in the justice system.
I know what it's like to walk into a courtroom where very few people look like you, and I know the system doesn't always give Black people the benefit of the doubt. You deserve a lawyer who sees the whole person, not just the police report.
You'll get honest answers about your options, you won't be pressured into a plea you don't understand, and I am never afraid to take your case to trial. A charge is where your story starts to get told, not where it ends.
My background
Before starting Wynn Law, I practiced at established Indianapolis law firms and worked as an attorney in a university general counsel's office. I have handled cases at the trial and appellate levels, in state and federal court.
Ready for trial from day one
I prepare every case as if it is going to trial, because it might. From our first meeting, I am building your defense: testing the evidence, challenging the stop and the search, and getting ready to stand in front of a judge or a jury.
I am never afraid to try a case. Prosecutors know which lawyers will go to trial and which ones won't. I want them to know that about you from day one.
You make the final call on your case. My job is to make sure you make it from a position of strength.
Charges I defend
Misdemeanors and felonies
How I defend you
I get the full story. Police reports are written fast and from one side. I get the body cam, recordings, photos, and witness statements.
I look for the weak points. Illegal stops and searches, inconsistent statements, and evidence that doesn't hold up.
I keep you informed. Every question answered and every step explained. You won't be left in the dark.
Where I practice
Marion County and the surrounding counties, plus Monroe, Delaware, and Madison Counties.

Questions about cost
Can I afford a private defense lawyer? Probably more than you think. A lot of people assume a private lawyer is out of reach before they ever make the call. Your consultation is free, and you'll get a clear fee up front, with no surprises.
Do you offer payment plans? Yes. I offer in-house payment plans, which means you work out the plan directly with my office. We set payments around your budget and your paydays.
Is financing available? Yes. If you'd rather spread the cost out further, financing options are available. Ask about them during your free consultation.
Can a family member help pay? Yes. Families often come together to cover the fee. Our conversations stay confidential even when someone else is paying, and the decisions in your case stay yours.
Do I have to come downtown to get started? No. Consultations are by phone or Zoom, so you don't have to take time off work or find a ride. Calls are answered 24/7.
