Wynn Law P.C. is a Black-owned law firm in downtown Indianapolis specializing in family law, protective orders, criminal defense, and expungements.
Why it matters
Let's be real. Family law attorneys are a dime a dozen, and there are very few Black-owned law firms in Indy. Your family deserves an attorney who understands how race, culture, and family structure show up and are perceived in the courtroom, from how a parent is perceived to how co-parenting and extended family are valued. When your kids and your future are on the line, you need someone who can tell your family's story the right way.
I know what it's like to walk into a courtroom where very few people look like you, and I know the system doesn't always give Black families the benefit of the doubt. You deserve a lawyer who sees your whole family, not just the court file.
You'll get honest answers about your options, and I am never afraid to take your case to trial when that's what it takes.
My background
Before starting Wynn Law, I practiced at established Indianapolis law firms and worked as an attorney in a university general counsel's office. I have handled cases at the trial and appellate levels, in state and federal court.
Every parent deserves a voice
Fathers deserve a voice. Mothers deserve a voice. So do grandparents and relatives who have stepped up to raise a child. Whatever your role, I make sure the court hears your side, and I will always give you an honest assessment of where you stand.
Prepared for court
I prepare every family case as if it's going to a hearing. When the other side knows you're ready, you negotiate from strength, and when it's time to go to court, you're not scrambling.
What I handle
Divorce
Legal separation
Custody and parenting time
Protective orders, whether you are asking for one or responding to one
Where I practice
Marion County and the surrounding counties, plus Monroe, Delaware, and Madison Counties.

Questions about cost
Can I afford a private family lawyer? Probably more than you think. A lot of people assume a private lawyer is out of reach before they ever make the call. Your consultation is free, and you'll get a clear fee up front, with no surprises.
Do you offer payment plans? Yes. I offer in-house payment plans, which means you work out the plan directly with my office. We set payments around your budget and your paydays.
Is financing available? Yes. If you'd rather spread the cost out further, financing options are available. Ask about them during your free consultation.
Can a family member help pay? Yes. Families often come together to cover the fee. Our conversations stay confidential even when someone else is paying, and the decisions in your case stay yours.
Can the other side be ordered to help pay my fees? In some divorce and custody cases, an Indiana court can order the other party to contribute to attorney fees. We'll talk about whether that's realistic in your case.
Do I have to come downtown to get started? No. Consultations are by phone or Zoom, so you don't have to take time off work or find a ride. Calls are answered 24/7.
